🎁 Reward reviews with discounts

Thank reviewers with a discount on their next order as a review incentive, give more for photos and videos, and set the code type, expiry and reminder.

A discount on the next order is the review incentive that thanks customers for their review, and a bigger one for a photo or video fills your gallery. Quoli creates the code, emails it to the reviewer and reminds them before it runs out, and the offer brings them back to buy again.

Where: Settings ▸ Discounts

The code arrives: By email, right after the review

Raising the rewards for photo and video reviews

Set up a review reward

The Review rewards card with its parts numbered

➀ Discount. No discount, Same for everyone, or Different per review type. Edit email opens the email that carries the code.

➁ Value. Percent off, from 1 to 50%, or Amount off in your store's currency, from 1 to 500,000. Tick each kind of review that earns a reward and set what it earns.

➂ Code type. A unique code for each reviewer, or one code that already exists in your store.

➃ Combinations. Whether new codes work together with your other discounts.

➄ Review source. Where a review must come from to earn a code.

Changes wait behind the save bar until you click Save.

  • No discount. Nothing. Reviews come in as usual.

  • Same for everyone. One value, for each kind of review you tick.

  • Different per review type. Its own value for a written review, a review with photos and a review with a video. A review with both photos and a video earns the video value, or the photo one when videos earn nothing. A review with media never falls back to the written review's value, so a video-only review earns nothing when videos earn nothing.

  • Requests and on-site. Every review, from your request emails or the form on your store.

  • Review requests only. Reviews matched to an order, like those written from your request emails.

  • On-site only. Reviews written on your store.

Reviews about your store as a whole don't earn a code, and editing a review never earns a second one.

Unique or existing codes

  • Generate unique codes. Quoli creates a new code for each reviewer, as its own discount named Quoli Review Reward in your store's discounts. It's limited to one use and one customer, so it can't spread on coupon sites.

  • Use an existing code. One code you already made in your store, for every reviewer. Type it in and click Verify code: Quoli checks it exists before it promises it to anyone.

An existing code is simpler to track in your store's reports, but anyone it reaches can pass it on.

Combinations

  • Don't combine (default). A new code: Can't be used together with other discounts on the same order.

  • Combine with other discounts. A new code: Works together with your product, order and shipping discounts. Your store's discount page shows all three ticked under Combinations.

The setting applies to codes made after you save it; codes already sent keep theirs. With Use an existing code, the code keeps the combinations you set on it in your store.

Expiry and reminder

The Expiry and reminder card
  • Code expires. Never, or 7, 15, 30, 45 or 60 days after it's sent.

  • Reminder email. Don't remind, or 1 to 6 days before the code expires. Edit email opens the reminder.

A shorter window brings shoppers back sooner. A longer one suits products people buy again only every few months.

What the reviewer gets

The reward email with a code

Right after their review, the reviewer gets an email with their code, what it's worth and when it expires, with a button to your store. When the Confirmation email in Settings ▸ Collect & publish is on, the code comes once they confirm their review. When the reward email is switched off, or the shopper's address is blocklisted, unsubscribed or bounced, no code is made, and the review form doesn't promise one.

The offer works best when shoppers know it up front: the review form and your request emails say what each kind of review earns. Any amount you write into those emails yourself follows these values, as Edit your emails explains. View discounts in the title bar opens your store's discounts, where generated codes show up.

Rewarded reviews on your store

A review whose writer got a reward shows Incentivized review next to its date in two places: in the PDP Reviews Widget on its product page, and in the review's detail card, which every review widget opens when a shopper clicks a review. Hovering it says the store gave the reviewer a discount for leaving a review. The US FTC's rules on reviews ask stores to disclose rewards like this, so it's always on.

Every shopper earns the same reward whatever their rating. A review from an order earns its reward for that order. Other reviews, from the storefront form or a review link without an order, earn one reward per shopper: a second review from the same email address, even written differently (capitals, dots in a Gmail address or a "+" tag), gets no new code.

In Reviews, these reviews carry an Incentivized badge, and the review's Details show its Reward: what it's worth, the code and when it was sent. Reviews rewarded before September 25, 2026 aren't marked, since their codes weren't kept with them.

On the Free plan

The card shows what rewards look like, with a lock and See plans. Rewards turn on with Starter and up, as Plans and what each one includes lists.

💡 Tip: A ladder works well: around 5% for a written review, 15% with a photo and 20% with a video. The margin you give on one order buys media that sells for months.
