Imported reviews aren't visible yet

Usually moderation, sometimes matching, occasionally the clock.

You ran the import and your storefront looks unchanged. Almost always, the reviews are here and simply not published yet. Three checks settle it.

1. Is the import actually finished?

Large imports run in the background and email you when done, to the address you set under Notify when done. No email yet means it is still working. The wizard's progress view shows the live count if you kept it open.

2. Are they waiting in moderation?

Open Reviews, then Manage, and filter by the Imported source badge. Imported reviews respect your publish rules like any others, so depending on your auto-publish setting they may be sitting in Pending. Spot-check a sample, select all, and publish in bulk. This is the cause nine times out of ten.

3. Did products match?

Reviews attach to products by handle or ID from your CSV. If a product was renamed, merged, or deleted since the export, its reviews import but have nowhere to display. Check a missing product's reviews by searching its name in Manage reviews, and re-import corrected rows with the right handles if needed. The Validate sample step flags most of these before they happen.

And two quick sanity checks

  • The widget side. Published reviews still need a placed widget. If the whole storefront shows nothing, run the widget checklist first.

  • Media gaps. Photos import by URL from your old app's file. If images are missing on otherwise healthy reviews, the URLs had likely expired before import, which is why exporting and importing on the same day matters.

šŸ’” Tip: The import results email itself is the best diagnostic: it states imported counts and errors plainly, and the error report names the exact rows that need attention.
