⏳ Imported reviews aren't visible yet

Imported reviews missing from your store? Check the import finished, the reviews are published, they found their product, and where store reviews go. Plus how long stars take to update.

Imported reviews show on your store once the import finishes and they're published. If yours aren't there, the import page already says why.

Shows on your store: Within a minute of the import finishing, for published reviews

An import's options, its result and its job, numbered

➀ Import published reviews as pending. When it's on, every review waits in Reviews until you publish it.

➁ The result. What came in, and anything to look at: here, a review whose product isn't in the store, and a photo that couldn't be copied.

➂ Recent jobs. Whether the import is still running, and how many reviews came in.

1. Has the import finished?

  • Pending, or Running with "120 of 500 reviews". Wait. Large files take a few minutes, and you can leave the page.

  • Completed. The import is done, and its result lists anything to look at. Go to step 2.

  • Completed with errors. Click Download error report for the rows that didn't come in and why, such as a product handle that isn't in your store. Fix them in your file and import it again.

  • Failed: Stopped before it finished. Import the same file again. Reviews already in are skipped.

  • Failed: Another import was running. Imports run one at a time. Start it again when the other one is done.

  • Failed: Quoli's server didn't respond. Import the same file again. Reviews already in are skipped.

2. Are they published?

Each review keeps the status your old app gave it, so hidden or pending reviews come in pending. With Import published reviews as pending on, every one does. Pending reviews wait in Reviews: publish them there, one at a time or in bulk. See Publish and archive reviews.

3. Did they find their product?

Quoli matches each review to a product by its ID, then its handle. When the result says a review "names a product that isn't in your store", it came in with the product details from the file. It shows on none of your product pages, though it can still show in widgets for your whole store, such as the All Reviews Page.

  1. Find the review in Reviews by searching the reviewer's name, and archive it.

  2. Correct its product ID or handle in your file. The handle is the last part of the product's URL.

  3. Import the file again. The rest of the file is skipped as imported before.

If you no longer sell the product, leave the review archived.

4. Are they store reviews?

Reviews of your store, rather than a product, go to Reviews ▸ Store reviews. They never show on product pages. They show on the All Reviews Page, and in the Reviews Sidebar when its Store reviews tab is on or a Rating Badge or Trust Bar opens it. They also count toward the store rating in the Rating Badge and Trust Bar.

Stars in your theme and in search

Quoli's widgets show new reviews within a minute. The star rating saved with each product, which search results and some themes' own stars read, updates in the background after an import, about 20 products a minute, so a store with 1,200 products takes about an hour. Google then decides when to show stars, which can take a few weeks.

💡 Tip: A photo the result says couldn't be copied had a link that no longer worked. Import while your old app's account is still open, so every photo and video link still works.
