🔎 Filters, sorting and search

How shoppers narrow your reviews down: search, the star, photo and attribute filters, the five sort orders, the result count, empty results and the three ways more reviews load.

A product with dozens of reviews needs a quick way in. Above the reviews, shoppers can search, filter and sort, and the list updates as they go.

➁ Filters. Opens the filters. Its number counts the filters in use.

➂ Sort. Changes the order of the list.

➃ The filters. Stars with how many reviews each, photos or videos, and your questions about the reviewer.

➄ Active filters. How many reviews match, each filter in use with its ✕, and Clear all.

Your questions

Reviews whose writer gave that answer, like Oily under skin type. One answer at a time.

Filters of different kinds combine, so a shopper can ask for 4 star reviews with photos. A click on a rating bar in the rating summary picks the same star filter. A filter with no matching reviews, like 1 star on a product nobody gave 1 star, can't be picked.

Your questions about the reviewer become filters on their own: Show attributes on your widgets explains which ones.

The search box takes the full width, with Filters and Sort side by side under it. The filters open as a panel, and Show N reviews closes it on the matches.

Links that keep the filters

On product pages, the star, photo and video filters, the search and the sort show in the page address. A shopper who shares or reloads the page sees the same reviews. Answer filters aren't kept in the address, and the Reviews Sidebar and All Reviews Page leave the address as it is.

💡 Tip: Ask one question about the reviewer, like skin type or usual size. It becomes the filter shoppers reach for first, because it finds reviews from people like them.
