📊 The rating summary

The score card at the top of your reviews: the average and stars, the rating bars that filter the list, the featured attribute, the would recommend line and Write a review, in every widget and on phones.

The rating summary sits at the top of your reviews and answers the first thing shoppers want to know: how good is it? It's the same card in every widget that lists reviews, sized to the space it has.

The rating summary with its parts numbered

➀ Average and stars. The average of every published review, to one decimal, with the last star filled to match.

➁ Review count. How many published reviews make up the average. The ⓘ next to it explains how reviews work.

➂ Write a review. Opens the review form right on the page.

➃ Rating bars. How many reviews gave each star. A click on a bar filters the list.

➄ Featured attribute. The average answer to the question you feature, like how effective it is.

➅ Would recommend. The share of reviewers who'd recommend it.

Filter by stars

Clicking the 4 star bar to show only 4 star reviews, then clearing it

A click on a bar shows only that star's reviews, with the number of matches and a 4 stars chip above the list. A click on the same bar, the chip's ✕ or Clear all brings every review back. Clicking another bar switches to that star. A bar with no reviews can't be clicked.

Each piece in detail

Average and count

Only published reviews count, so the score always matches the reviews shoppers can read. On the Reviews Sidebar and the All Reviews Page the score is for your whole store and reads like 4.4/5.

The How reviews work note open under the review count

The ⓘ opens How reviews work: reviews are written by customers, Verified buyer means a review is matched to a real order, and the score is the average of every published review. On the Free plan it shows the Quoli mark and Verified by Quoli instead.

Featured attribute

One rating scale or spectrum question from Reviews ▸ Attributes, with the average answer marked on its bar. Pick it with Feature its average when you add or edit the question. Show attributes on your widgets covers every question style.

Would recommend

The share of Yes answers to your Yes or no question, like 84% would recommend this product. Without that question, it's the share of 4 and 5 star reviews. It hides at 0%.

In each widget

Wide product pages give the summary three columns. Narrower spaces stack it: in the Reviews Sidebar, the score and bars share a row and the featured attribute sits below them.

The rating summary in the Reviews Sidebar

On phones every piece stacks in one column, with Write a review across the full width.

The rating summary on a phone

Turn a piece off and the card closes up around the rest, so it never shows an empty column.

Before the first review

The empty state with Write a review and Ask a question

A product with no reviews yet shows empty stars, Be the first to review this product and the Write a review button, plus Ask a question when the Questions tab is on. The PDP and Grid widgets let you change that heading in their block settings.

Settings

Each widget's block settings in your theme editor turn the pieces on or off. All of them are on by default.

💡 Tip: Feature the question that answers your product's main promise, like how effective a serum is or how a shoe fits. It's the line shoppers read right after the stars.
