🚦 Choose which reviews go live

Settings ▸ Collect & publish: which new reviews publish on their own, which wait for your approval, confirmation emails for on-site reviews, featuring new reviews and the QI confidence check.

Some reviews can go live the moment they arrive. Others should wait for you first. Settings ▸ Collect & publish decides what happens to every new review: it publishes on its own, waits for your approval, or waits for the shopper to confirm their email. QI can read each one before it goes live.

Changes wait behind the save bar until you click Save. They apply to reviews that arrive after that, never to reviews you already have.

On-site reviews

The On-site reviews card with its parts numbered

➀ Confirmation email. On, a shopper who reviews on your store gets an email with a link to confirm it. The review waits in Reviews under Awaiting confirmation until they click it, then goes live. Shoppers who leave no email skip this step.

➁ Edit email. Opens the confirmation email in the editor, with a live preview.

➂ Skip approval. On, reviews from your store's review form go live right away. Off, they wait for you in Reviews under Pending.

On-site reviews follow these two switches, not the rating rule below. A review the shopper confirms by email goes live even with Skip approval off: their click is the check.

Publishing

The Publishing card with its parts numbered

➀ Rating rule. Which reviews from your review requests publish on their own: Every review, 5 stars only, 4 stars and up, 3 stars and up, or Nothing, so you approve each one. The rest wait for you under Pending.

➁ Add new reviews to carousel. Features new reviews of 4 stars and up as they arrive, so they show in your Home Carousel when its Show setting is Featured. Pick which: Photo or video reviews, Text-only reviews or Any review. A review that gets its first photo later joins a photo or video carousel then. Don't add automatically leaves the picking to you, in Reviews.

➂ QI confidence check. On, QI reads the title and text of every review that's about to publish on its own. Abusive or offensive wording sends it to Pending instead.

➃ Minimum confidence. How sure QI must be that the wording is fine, from 50% to 99%. A review below it waits for you. It starts at 80%.

A review QI holds says why in its history, in the review popup. If QI can't finish reading a review, it holds it too, so nothing unchecked goes live. On plans below Advanced, the row shows a lock with the plan that turns it on.

What decides

A review request email

The rating rule: matching reviews go live, the rest wait under Pending.

Your store's review form

The confirmation email first, when it's on. Then Skip approval: on, it goes live; off, it waits under Pending.

An import

The status in your file. An empty status counts as Approved.

With the QI confidence check on, QI reads every review those rules would publish, and holds back any with abusive or offensive wording. Approve or reject what's waiting from the Pending view in Reviews.

💡 Tip: Publish lower ratings too, and reply to them. Shoppers trust a 4.7 with a few honest 3 star reviews more than a perfect 5.
