🪢 Share reviews between products with groups

Group products so their pages share reviews: an identical group for the same product sold as separate listings, a bundle for a kit that shows its products' reviews.

A new listing starts with no reviews, even when it's a product your customers already love. Groups let related products share their reviews, so a kit, a new size or a new color opens with the proof it deserves.

What each page shows

Identical

One product sold as separate listings, such as a shirt in three colors, or a cream in two sizes

Every product shows the reviews of all of them.

Bundle

A kit or set made of products you also sell on their own

The bundle's page shows its own reviews and its products'. Each product keeps only its own.

Variants of one listing already share its reviews, so they don't need a group.

Create a group

  1. Open Reviews ▸ Groups and click Create group.

  2. Fill it in as below, then click Create group.

A bundle group in its editor with its parts numbered

➀ Group name. Shown only in your admin, to tell groups apart.

➁ Group type. Identical or Bundle.

➂ Bundle parent. The kit whose page shows the reviews. Only for a bundle.

➃ Products. A bundle's products, or an identical group's members: at least 2 for an identical group, and up to 5.

➄ Save. Your product pages share the reviews from now on.

A product can be in more than one group, and then shows the reviews of all of them.

What shoppers see

A kit's reviews on the store, counting the reviews of its products

➀ The shared count. Here the kit has 72 reviews of its own and shows 283, with its cleanser's, moisturizer's and balm's.

The group's reviews show in the PDP Reviews Widget and the Grid Reviews Widget, with their photos and videos, rating bars and answers, and the star rating counts them too. A review written on a page belongs to that page's product.

In Reviews, every review stays under the product it was written for, so filtering by a product shows only its own.

Change or remove a group

Click Edit on a group to change its products or type. Click the bin to remove it: it's marked Removed on save until you click Save in the bar at the top. Reviews then stop being shared, and each product keeps the reviews written for it.

Search finds a group by name, and All, Identical and Bundles show one type.

💡 Tip: Launching a new size or color as its own product? Group it with the original before it goes live, so it opens with every review the original has earned.
