Attributes let you collect structured feedback beyond star ratings and text. Add product attributes (like "How was the fit?") or customer attributes (like "What's your skin type?") to make reviews more useful for shoppers and more insightful for your team.

Access attributes

  1. Open Quoli from your Shopify admin.

  2. Click Reviews in the left menu.

  3. Select the Attributes tab at the top.

  4. Click Create New to add your first attribute.

Product attributes

Product attributes collect feedback about the product itself. Choose from these input types:

  • Recommendation β€” a simple "Would you recommend this?" Yes/No toggle.

  • Number selection β€” a numeric rating scale (e.g., 1–10 for quality).

  • Centre bar β€” a slider from one extreme to another (e.g., "Runs Small" ← β†’ "Runs Large"). Perfect for fit, taste, or intensity.

Customer attributes

Customer attributes collect information about the reviewer to help future shoppers find relevant reviews. Choose from:

  • Multiple choice β€” checkboxes where customers can select multiple options (e.g., "What did you like? Taste, Texture, Packaging").

  • Single choice β€” radio buttons for one answer only (e.g., "Your age range: 18–25, 26–35, 36–45, 46+").

  • Dropdown β€” a compact dropdown menu for longer option lists.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: Don't overdo it β€” 2–3 attributes is the sweet spot. Too many fields increase form abandonment. Pick the attributes that help your shoppers make a buying decision.

Attribute ideas by industry

Here are the most effective attributes for common Shopify store categories:

Clothing & Apparel: Fit (Runs Small β†’ Runs Large), Size purchased, Comfort, Quality, Occasion (Casual, Formal, Athletic)

Beauty & Personal Care: Skin type (Oily, Dry, Combination, Sensitive), Shade match, Scent, Results timeline

Food & Beverage: Taste (Poor β†’ Excellent), Freshness, Packaging quality, Allergen relevance

Electronics & Gadgets: Ease of setup, Battery life, Build quality, Value for money

Home & Furniture: Assembly difficulty, Material quality, Matches description, Sturdiness

Sports & Outdoors: Durability, Comfort, Performance, Weather resistance

How attributes appear

Once customers submit reviews with attributes, this structured data shows up on your product pages as visual summaries β€” bar charts, percentage breakdowns, and recommendation scores. This helps shoppers quickly scan what matters most to them.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: For apparel stores, the "Fit" centre bar is especially powerful. When shoppers can see that 80% of reviewers say a product "Runs true to size," it reduces returns and boosts purchase confidence.
